Luang is a textured fabric using a wool yarn spun in Italy and woven on a silk warp. The yarns are softened before hand dyeing enabling the fabric to hang well when made into curtains. The mixed composition yarn takes the dye in different ways giving the fabric a slight ombré feel. This version has a line of bronzed gold Lurex yarn added for special effect. What makes this fabric special: Hand-woven fabric is the ultimate in sustainability. Luang is named after a Buddhist temple in the south of Laos on the Thai border. The yarn used for this fabric is a mix of Italian wool and silk, specially spun for Soie de Lune in the north of Italy in a slubby form. It gives a beautiful ombré effect and works well as curtains. This version also contains a meandering gold Lurex yarn.
